"British armed police patrol London's Leicester Square in July 2005, following the suicide bombings on the London transport system.
The photo, widely published, was transmitted into the Associated Press World wide network directly from a pda using Phojo, from a nearby wifi point."
Phil Spencer - The Daily Mirror >
"Phojo beat the deadline at the end of the Ashes cricket Test Match.
Shooting the crowd at a giant TV screening of the game in Manchester I
transferred the image through my WT-1 on my Nikon D2H to my PDA running
Phojo 3. The result is the photo in the Daily Mirror."
Paul Sanders - Picture Editor, The Times "Pocket Phojo coupled with an iPAQ 2210 has become a most potent addition to our digital kit. Whether in Downing Street, on the campaign trail, or in a crowd disturbance, Times photographers can edit a full 512MB CF card, colour correct, caption, and use Phojo's built-in FTP client to begin transmitting their first selection of pictures to the picture desk within a few minutes. With BlueTooth, the mobile phone does not even need to be taken out of their bag, and high speed WiFi hotspots are making things even faster. When off duty, the iPAQ running Phojo combined with a compact digital camera means that our photographers always have the ability to file wherever no matter they are." Michel Spingler - AP Photo

day of U.S President George W. Bush's meeting with European Union and

"Here is a photo of the Norwegian, Hofstad, Nordic Combined, passes (jumps over) the finish line and takes WC gold medal for the Norwegian team. Two minutes later the photo was on www.aftenposten.no frontpage. Using: PDA - Phojo - GSM (cell.phone)" Edmond Terakopian - www.pix.org.uk
"I've been using Phojo for around 7 months and love it. I've had it on iPaqs and now on a Toshiba e800. Withought a doubt, with its VGA screen, the Tosh is the one to get. I can't recommend it highly enough. When you're in a rush or need to travel/work light, nothing else will do. Here's a picture which shows when Phojo comes into its own. It's a picture taken of students demonstrating outside the Houses of Parliament, for student fees. It was late and very close to the first deadlines. I took my early pictures, took several steps away from the crowds of demonstrators, got out my pda, loaded up the pictures, did an edit of two, captioned and sent them via Bluetooth, through my mobile phone, back to the PA desk. The other photographers meanwhile were still trying to find a safe place to take out their laptops! Every once in a while I'd get questioned as to what I was doing. When I said I'm just sending my second picture, you should've seen the expressions!" Rick Maiman "First off, may I say that I could have never have been as competent or capable in delivering pictures to my Bloomberg News desk without Phojo in the seven weeks of the Martha Stewart trial. Believe me, when your software, pinging my photos to the wide eyed awe of TV cameramen standing right beside me, elicited gasps of envy, well, it was a sight to behold. This past monday, as Stewart, and her co defendant Peter Bacanovic visited their probation officers, in heavy snow showers, over several hours, I was the only dude wearing my iPAQ and Phojo vestments, and beat the other wires by 90 minutes when the whole scene had ended. Yowser!" Terry Kane - www.eyewitnessimages.co.uk
"I'd just like to mention that I've just used Phojo a few times and transmitted images back to some of my newspapers by both email and ftp and my mac has since only come out of my bag once back at home! Need I give any further endorsement!" Clint Keller - The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette "Add me to the list of very satisfied customers. I've been using Phojo for about 9 months and love it. I use and iPaq 2210 with Verizon and it's great. Paul is great to work with as well. I recently shot a state track meet and had 7 photos into the desk before the event was over. It is so easy to transmit quickly in between events. I highly recommend it." Daniele Venturelli, Fotografo
When Italy's Minister of defence challenged Michael Schumacher to race a Eurofighter Typhoon, the clear winner was Daniele Venturelli and his Pocket Phojo system. The race began at 10:26am, this photo was on newspapers web sites by 10:28am. Ron Haviv, vii for Newsweek "Why did I choose Pocket Phojo to take to Kuwait? Because it's small, amazing, light, and it works!" John Lehmann, Globe and Mail
"Phojo software is a great blend of technology and simplicity designed to make a photojournalist even faster. Idruna has the best customer support I've ever received from any software developer." Richard Drew, Staff Photographer AP-New York
"I was assigned to cover the final takeoff of the British Airways Concorde at New York's JFK International Airport recently. My assignment was to photograph the air traffic controller, who directed the landing of the first Concorde at JFK in 1977, who would also handle the last flight. For this, I was allowed access to the control tower. After the plane's early morning departure, I immediately Phojo'd the images of the controller from the tower via FTP to the AP via my Sprint 3G card. Everyone was impressed to see them come back on the Yahoo-News-Photos site on the tower's computer before we left. Ed Betz photographed the departure from the runway." Joe Abell, San Antonio Express News "We're sending four Pocket Phojos to the Middle East to use as alternate means of photo and story production. The photographers are backing up the reporters and vice-versa. Pocket Phojo has helped us out many times in San Antonio and we think it will be a big part of our war effort." Adam Scull, NY Post Miami Correspondent "In this day and age of layers and layers of voicemail at a business, I had called Paul Nolan, the President of Idruna, and he returned my call within 30 minutes of my message, and then proceeded to spend over an hour on the phone with me.. He cares dearly that the photographers experience is as clear and uncomplicated as possible, and THAT is worth the price of admission. This is a great setup." Kevin P. Coughlin, Senior Photojournalist/ CEO Photostation Images.com "This is Kevin P. Coughlin, The New York Times contributor and President of PhotostationImages.com, a news and sports photo agency spawned from the advent of the Pocket Phojo. I have used the Pocket Phojo in the field for about 95% of my NY Times assignments, and most recently, for news magazine clients as the Pocket Phojo 2.0 software enables the easy opening of 17 mb Nikon D1X files. I love the Transmit features for Batch Email and Batch FTP functions, complete with transmission progress bars." Orjan F. Ellingvag - US Photo Correspondent Dagbladet Daily Newspaper (Norway) "Covering the California Recall for my employer, Dagbladet Daily Newspaper in Norway, I had to come up with a solution to combat 9 hours difference. Having heard about the Phojo some months ago, I decided to give it a try. Ordered the software and installed it on my iPAQ while riding a cab to LaGuardia - heading for LAX. It took half the flight from New York to Los Angeles to get familiar with the Pocket Phojo and setup custom IPTC templates and FTP-configurations. I brought my laptop as a backup, but it never left the bag. Thanks to Pocket Phojo I was able to file images in time for deadline back to Oslo - from my pocket - as I continued shooting Arnold on the stage and alleged victims for his groping offstage. During the elections I filed via my cellphone. Back in New York, I never bother. Hundreds of hotspots all over Manhattan make it a breeze batching big chunks of images while drinking coffee and discussing the images with my editors in Oslo - in real time." Graham Morris - www.cricketpix.com "Where would I be without Pocket Phojo? Probably back in the press centre with everyone else instead of out shooting more pictures." Michael J. Treola, Staff Photographer for the Asbury Park Press, NJ. "Pocket Phojo has truly changed the way I work. No longer am I lugging the extra weight of my laptop computer, nor do I have to worry about its security when I'm not around, the Compaq iPAQ coupled with Pocket Phojo fits in your shirt pocket. What a back saver!! Pocket Phojo provides every tool to color correct, set levels, caption, sharpen, save and send the photos with the same ease and accuracy as Adobe Photoshop. With multiple methods of sending photos using either the built in FTP software, email, landline or cell phone, not once have I been without an option to get my photos back to the office. Without hesitation I highly recommend Pocket Phojo, it has become my most valuable work tool next to my camera equipment." Ed Betz - www.edbetz.com "With Pocket Phojo I'm able to have a photo ready to send in less time than it takes to boot up my laptop. Because of it's small size, I can take it anywhere and transmit images from the sidelines while the game is still in play, which gives me an edge over my competition who have to wait until the end of the period or risk missing some of the action." John Cornell, Past President of the NPPA "Even in scrum of photographers, all it needs is a five minute break in the action, and my images can be transmitting, which is crucial for the immediacy of the web. Once transmitting, I can put the device back in my pocket and continue to cover the event. When the images are needed for the web asap, there is no other way to go in the field than Pocket Phojo and the Verizon Express Network." Navigation 1. Pocket Phojo Main Page 2.
